Annual Conference

MALEFI is an organization composed of active instructors from the Minnesota area.  We are dedicated to improving the quality of instruction by continuing our education and networking.  Join our association to share knowledge, training ideas and stay updated on new trends and legal mandates.  Our organization is comprised of and targeted to active Law Enforcement Officers dedicated to teaching firearms technique and tactics.

This year we will have Shane A. Ball as the primary instructor.  We will also have Johann Boden there to provide a 4-hour ballistics training/demo.

Shane A Ball was a Special Agent of the FBI from 1995 to 2022.  During the course of his career, he investigated criminal violations of federal law to include several high-profile investigations that resulted in successful prosecution.  Starting in 1996, Ball became a member of the FBI SWAT program and progressed through the ranks culminating in a five-year posting as the Senior Team Leader of the Minneapolis Division FBI SWAT team that has responsibility for Minnesota and the Dakota's.  In addition to significant SWAT specialty training, Ball has extensive training and expertise as a Firearms and Tactical Instructor for both SWAT Operators and the general Agent population.  In addition to providing training to FBI personnel, Ball has taught extensively to other Federal Agencies, State and Local Agencies as well as numerous foreign Police organizations.   Beginning in the summer of 2022, Ball began teaching firearms and tactics for the Wright County Sheriff's Office as a contractor.

Johann Boden

Johann Boden has 9 years of combined military experience, including airborne and specialized anti-terrorist and urban tactical operations.  10 years manufacturing and transportation management experience.  Former manufacturing supervisor in Centerfire ammunition and Rimfire ammunition.  Experience in New Product design engineering.
